Solar Service Apprentice Electrician
Solect is currently seeking to hire an experienced Apprentice Electrician. The Apprentice Electrician is an integral member of the Service/Operations and maintenance crews, who are responsible for maintaining and inspecting commercial/industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The candidate must demonstrate strong customer communication skills, be self-driven and independent with a passion for the solar industry. Must be able to manage a large volume of projects while demonstrating excellent work quality.

Key Responsibilities
Help to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems
Assist with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, inverters, panels and circuits
Tracing out short circuits in wiring, using test meter
Working consistently in a safe and effective manner
Maintaining tools, vehicles, and equipment. Keeping parts and supplies in order
Examining electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation. Tighten connections using hand tools
Constructing controllers and panels, using power drills, saws and punches
Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
Accurate and effective communication, both verbal and written, to document findings and requirements
Learning and using software to aid in project management and documentation
Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities
Essential Requirements:
Positive driving record and valid state driver’s license
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively in a team environment
Willingness and ability to walk a customer’s property which will include terrain and rooftops
Ability to work in extreme environments (example: heat, snow, rain, wind, etc)
Willingness and capability to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops
Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
Capable to lift 50 lbs of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time
Superb customer service skills – a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor is a must
Greater Advantage if you possess:
Knowledge and understanding of Solar PV Basics, Fundamentals and Troubleshooting
OSHA 10 Certification
NABCEP Certification a BIG plus
